my humble shot on sentosa flower.
Combining two days of my Flower shoot @ Sentosa.
04 Feb 2011, gone with Florence76 and Reportage at 10am.
07 Feb 2011, gone with Florence76 at 9am and broke my viewfinder.
A pano of the entrance of RWS on 07 Feb 2011 at 9am. Florence76 is the one on the right in white.
it is very hot in the day... super hot
Manual focus to infinity and set Aperture to F11 onwards since we are doing landscape.
Some say set shutter speed manually but I prefer to let the camera decide and underexpose by 1/3 stop especially for sunrise and sunset (2/3 stop down).
Normally I use a 14(28)mm but I managed to borrow a 7-14(14-28)mm from Florence76.
Using 1/3 of the maximum viewing angle of the lens, 114°/3 ~= 40° means having 1/3 of the images that overlap.
1/4 of the maximum viewing angle of the lens, 114°/4 ~= 30° is even better if you are not shooting sunrise or sunset.
So 30° rotation equals 12 + 1 shots (also reshoot the first frame).
For sunrise or sunset, always start from the opposite side of the sun else PS will get confused.
Use Photomerge for all the 12 + 1 frames in Bridge + Photoshop, select spherical.
Merge all the layers and crop away the missing portions or you can try filling it in with content aware.
Cut away the overlapping image on the side and try to match both ends.
You might need to apply gradient fill layer... that is something for another day.
Rotate image 180°.
Choose from Filter, Distort, Polar Coordinates.
Resize image to 1:1 ratio.
Apply Elliptical Marquee Tool and hold down Shift button to have a circular selection.
Apply Layer via cut and delete the unwanted parts.
You should have a little planet after this.
Forget to say, for your Nex-5... the pano is best done by hand and not on tripod as it has an issue of not turning fast enough on the tripod.
i went to probably the better place to go for relatively peaceful flower photography.
You wont see me much less remember me but i am the guy who makes you look good.
Going there this sat with a macro grp.Originally Posted by Reportage

By 11am crowd started to form, by 12pm I am out of Sentosa :-)

Not sure, I got my free tickets but trying to cough up more for friend's family. If not enough will throw in my own.Originally Posted by Reportage
