I would suggest you to buy original battery, unless you have budget constraint.

    Hi Kwttan
I checked their prices. Original costs $100+ and the 3rd party one is about $30. Technically 3rd party one has more mah. Very confused

It only claims to have .. one can print any fancy figure on a battery label. Most 3rd party batteries deliver the same or slightly less capacity than the original ones.
Do note that some original batteries come with chips which will be recognized by charger and camera. Without this chip the camera might not report status properly.

Wow! Sony batt is so expensive
You can give it a try since the price gap is so great, but I am quite skeptical about 3rd party batt, just my personal opinion only.

I'm using phottix battery for my A700, so far no problem at all... i got it off ebay for $16 bucks... much cheaper than mass sale.

except that it dosent hold charge as well as the original in extreme cold weather.

3rd party like Camera Devices / Phottix will do, though personally prefer the former.

It should be ok. But def it might start to have lowered performance after a while. That said, you can usually buy 2-3 third party batt for original batt price. Why not? I'd say go for it. But ultimately it is your choice.
