Both can be use for landscape and portrait. Also, you bought both an 18-55 and 18-105? The 18-105 covered the whole range of the 18-55.

Both lenses can be used for portrait and landscape. But with the 18-105, you're already covering the 18-55 so that makes the 18-55 redundant.

The 18-105 overlaps the 18-55's focal range entirely. Unless you really need a lighter lens, 18-55 is redundant.

Try not to be fixated on "____ focal length for _____ type of photography". It's not so straightforward. You'll understand once you get used to your camera and try out different genres.
    Exploring! :)
