Focusing with live view mode on LCD may help you?

My younger brother who is into photography because of allergy has the same problem. One stage he also suffered from eye pain. He has to use eye-drop to lubircate his eyes and frequent rests from PC.

Also bring it to front door to varnish and polish it like what people do to their Lamborghini.

I had an eye problem before too.. Long wearing of contact lenses caused my cornea to be deprived of oxygen. at that time my vision was pretty blur most of the time (quite dangerous cos I'm driving everyday) after some treatment it got better. But I changed to wearing monthly lenses instead of permanent lens.

Not sure how to activate live mode view on my 400d. Don't suppose there's one at all?

If you need a longer reach, consider the longer lenses such as 180 or 200.

But if you need magnification, then you'll have to look at other tools such as tubes, tc's, etc. iirc, tubes reduce the focsing distance, so you reduce the minimum focusing distance. And tc's will maginify the subject accordingly (but at a lost of aperture)

and in the worse possible senario, crop the pic. haha
Hahaha. Thanks! Will consider tubes now.. need to chiong research so can buy in Hk when I go TMR.

It's more of a practise and get it right issue IMO. Also try to use the camera's green dot for confirmation of focusing.
Sometimes I find AF not very accurate. which is bad when my eyesight is also not accurate.

    I use 400D too.

I think you need 450D to have live view.

Dump that raynox and go for extension tube. It is a crap piece of glass unless you just want web viewing quality.

Don't stare right into the VF, just relax and look thru it. With practice, you can shoot with 2 eyes open to prevent straining your eyes.
then really must consider extension tube liao

Need to learn how to relax first. squinting too much these days.

No.. not the AF. Even when you MF, and you half-press the shutter, the green dot indicator should light up when you get your subject in focus.

Try it out and you'll see.

After starting up on the canon G5 a long long time ago in poly, need to have live view plus swivel screen on all cameras now.

I never like to use contact lens as it deprive me of my personality.

I have 5 pairs of glasses in different colours and shapes to match my mood.

Someday when I want to look serious I wear thick black glasses with a moustache.
