Recently, one of our Sony Jedi post his thread of his crack LCD screen which cost him a lot in repair cost.
It serve a well reminder to all of us to be careful when handling our equipment. For the main camera, body or accessories, Camera Bag act as a protection while we are on the move. For lens, we have filter to act as frontline protection. How about LCD screen, do we have a solid protector plastic like Nikon D70 to absord certain degree of small impact? Sometime, I do ponder, what if (touch wood lah) , my F828's LCD screen was hit by small, but direct impact. Is there any protector screen for LCD for just basic protection? Please comment. |

hmmmm, actually our F717s and F828s LCDs already have a layer of Acrylic over it, so it's more or less pretected from shattering/Cracking due to impact? If you want to protect it from scratches, one of those similar to PDA screen protectors will do fine.
![]() The sony user who recently got his screen cracked was using a T1. The newer sonys like T1, P100, W1, now uses the same type of screen like canon does, without the protective acrylic layer. Hence they shatter/crack much easier. |

How does the actual thing look like? Will it block the button around it? |
