More information about this product. It is translated to English by the excite.co.jp webpage from Japanese to English. And this will explain the kind of English over here. I am using cut and paste.

"Tripper" is an external hard disk equipped with the insertion mouth of (CompactFlash CF) memory card.
Only by setting a memory card and carrying out easy operation, the picture photoed with the digital camera can be saved on a disk.
Moreover, if it connects with a personal computer by the attached cable, it can use as an extension hard disk. Please transmit the saved picture to a personal computer by drag-and-drop operation of Windows, and utilize retouch edit, mail transmission, etc. as a library which enjoys a picture further. It corresponds to the new rank USB 2.0 with USB with which almost all the Windows personal computer is equipped standardly at connection. It corresponds also to high-speed personal computer environment.

* The software of retouch edit or mail transmission and reception has not enclosed.
* The personal computer and the optional interface board (host adapter) of USB2.0 correspondence is required to perform high-speed transmission of USB2.0. The USB2.0 interface board of our company (host adapter) The object for PCI buses is "IF/USB20PCI", and the object for PC cards (CardBus) is "IF/USB20CB."

A lightweight compact and a mass hard disk
"Tripper" is lightweight (about 300g) with the hard disk of 20GB of large scale, and a compact (91(W)x 138(D)x 33(H) mm).
Please use also for a notebook PC or carrying as well as a desktop personal computer.

CompactFlash slot equipment ((A) Photograph)
CF memory card which saved the photography picture of a digital camera is set, and a picture can be transmitted to a disk by easy button operation. A mass picture library is realized easily. It can use without a personal computer. (Microdrive correspondence) CompactFlash Type 1 and Type2 correspondence

Connection corresponds to USB/USB2.0. ((B) Photograph)
The connection with a personal computer corresponds to USB or USB2.0. USB is after Windows 98 the interface with which almost all personal computers are equipped. Moreover, USB2.0 is the new interface which had the high-speed maximum data transmission speed also about 40 times compared with USB (theoretical value on a standard).

Correspond also to plug and play and a hot plug.
Since it is plug and play (plug and play) recognized only by making cable connection, and the hot plug correspondence which can perform the desorption of "Tripper" with power supply ON, attachment/removal is possible to use. If it connects, since it is utilizable as an external hard disk, it can use also for uses, such as backup of data, and data movement in another personal computer, besides a library.

Also OK use on the outdoors by battery built-in.
Since the charge formula battery is built in, it can also use at the outdoors, a business trip place, etc. Indoors, please use enclosed AC power supply adapter. While connecting AC power supply adapter, a built-in battery is charged automatically.
* Transmission, DEFURAGU, etc. of the mass data which exceeds 500MB during operation should avoid the use for which prolonged disk access is needed with a built-in battery.

Operation is easy on a big button and a liquid crystal screen. ((C) Photograph)
The maximum charm of "Tripper" is easy operation. CF card is put in, and a picture is left and transmitted to a disk with only 2 buttons. It can be operated so easily that it is surprised at the large-sized guidance display of a button and liquid crystal.

* A photograph is a thing under development. A USB connector goes and the connection mouth of the left and AC adapter of actual goods is the right. Please mind.

They may be using the small-er than laptop drives from toshiba like the ones Ipods are using.

Only concern is the battery life.

$369, wins the Xdrive hands down.
