Thread: EFS 10-22 on 5D Mark II

I'd done the same mod on my ex 10-22 to mount it on my 1d3... it is wide but the lens doesn't seem to have the resolving power to accomodate any image sensors larger than APS-C. Distant leaves look horrible with only patches of green on trees... sold it and bought the 17-40L.

Curious... why would you like to mount an EF-S lens on a FF which cause heavy vignette (and may not have enuff resolving power)?

Wouldn't it be better just to get a EF lens that is design for FF instead?

Wouldn't it be better (in term of usability and IQ) to just get a 17-40L or 17-35 that would do a much better job then a 10-22 on your FF?

i prefer the distortion control of 10-22 [on 550D] than 17-40...

This is because shooting at it widest the EFS lens on FF had serious vignetting. Hence you are "cropping" to use it's center circle optic.

Distortion on UWA lens are common and can corrected or use as an advantage. Hence personally I would still prefer to use an EF lens for the job.

    Thanks for sharing...

So after cropping, what is the final resolution (MP) for 16mm?
Your fastest camera is as fast as your slowest lens
