Default Minolta Dimage F100 vs Canon S40

Any opinions on the new Dimage F100 compared to the Powershot S40? The Dimage F100 seems great, but in the preliminary reviews there seems to be an indication of about an average performance regarding speed of processing and a resulting lag bewtween shots. Also curious if the white balance issue has been fixed in the actual production camera. From what I gather the S40 has some focusing issues (and to my eyes at least, it's design is getting outdated...I know, but I do like good design:-) Any reviews out there, or anyone with a production model of the F100 and (ideally) experience with the S40? Thanks in advance!

The images by Dimage F100 look promising.
