Hi to all brothers and sisters of the deep blue yonder,
Well, think I better get to the point.... I NEED SOME ADVICE PLEASE... I'm quite new to uderwater photography and i just got myself a olympus 5060 with the underwater casing. I've been "fondering" with the settings for quite a while but sad to say that the best I got so far is to set to manual, the shuttle speed to 1/160 with a slow flash and a apeture of F3.2 in the mymode settings.Dun think it worked real well...... Can someone enligthen me on the setings I should use, both day and night? Sad to say that I do not have YET the fundings to get myself a strobe. JW |

I ussually play between S 1/60 to 1/100 with internal flash. A around 5.6. The pics turn out ok. Bring a small torch along, that might help out a little in focusing the subject. Also play some bracketing with S and A, that might help.
For night, I found it is difficult to snap nice picture w/o strobe. I could not even focus right at night. ![]() |

close up i shoot f8 1/125, internal strobe(not slave). marco mode..
white balance i set as auto.. wide angle er.. hardly take any :P strobe is a plus not a must.. better to start off without a strobe.. so you can get to know your camera better... strobe is an addition burden if you don't know how to use it.. get close to your subjects.. use spot focusing.. |
