Deciding which one to buy. Can anyone here give some comments on the above? Thx. Someone commented that posting in Sony forum might have different comments.

Anyway, the choice is always down to your own preference and more often than not, it's brand loyalty that helps make the final decision. Well, for me at least. :-) If you ask for opinions in the Sony thread, you are bound to get feedback that is biased towards sony.

the W1 as a matter of fact is in my shopping list. But in the mean time, i am still searching for images and reviews, something more substantial to back up the better camera. only then, i can use my preference to select the correct camera.

Personal opinion. The IXUS 430 is an unworthy comparison to the W1. The IXUS cameras are slow beyond words can describe. You'll need to compare it to the previous versions of the P series, then again the first generation of the P series. The W1 is in a different league. Unless you are attracted to the design of the IXUS range, you can't go wrong with a W1 or P100. |

![]() i got the W1, but i agree with bernards with ixus speed..........totally uncomparable to W1............you can actually try out the Cathay's, if you already bank in on either............ask the neutral party there lar.............wun go wrong.................... for point and shoots, there is not best of all , but i find W1 features matching the priceline ![]()
