Default WA converter for 300D

harlo! was thinking of buying a wide-angle converter for my 300D. does it work for 300D? i've seen people buying the 52mm thread WA converter for the G5. wonder if this converter works for my 50mm lens too.

thanks!

I've used such converters (both tele and wide) before with SLR lenses. whether it works depend on the lens. some lenses rotate while focussing and addition of a converter will stress the motor and the lens cannot focus. Also, you have to take note of vignetting.

combinations I've used:
EF 100mm macro usm with Olympus B300
EF 70-200 F4L with Olympus B300
EF 18-55 with Olympus WCON07 (vignetting till 22-24mm)
Tamron 28-200 XR with Olympus WCON07 (a little vignetting at one corner)
EF 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 with Olympus WCON07 (seems ok - just a little light falloff)

WCON is a 0.7x wide-angle converter, B300 is a 1.7x teleconverter (discontinued and replaced by Olympus TCON17). As the thread size differs from the filter size, I use step down rings (~$7-10 each).

I also have the usual SLR teleconverters that I sometimes use in combination with the B300
