I saw the Sony HVL-IRM Infrared Illiminator 2 hours ago at Mustafa (at Serangoon Road). There are a lot of sets there and they are selling at $85. Which "Mustafa" have you been to? ![]() |

There is, as usual, always not enough information provide by Sony on their product description causing us to puzzle about it. Let wait till DCA finish his exam first and ask him. |

actually i not using it now... if snowspeeder (since he say quite near) wanna borrow & do a review i dun mind...
btw the unit can use any FM** battery, so if u have a spare FM50 battery, den u can use it for the unit, it can also use with 2 AA battery which i am using since i bought, i seldom use, except to focus during no light situation...

But I think it would be better to let DCA concentrate on his exam first as it is on the coming next Saturday. Maybe, we will host the 2nd Sony Gathering after that, with DCA as guest of honour ![]() |

I bought the Sony Infrared Illminator today at Mustafa @ $85 and happily went home to try on my F828.
The Sony accessories book have indicate that the LifoLITHIUM NP-FM50 battery or AA size batteries can also power the Illminator. I try the NP-FM50 battery on it but found that it cannot fit into the Illminator. After checking, to my disaster , I found that I have actually bought the WRONG MODEL.Intially, I thought there is only one model for Sony Illminator. The Illiminator which F828 have recommend is HVL-IRM, the model that Mustafa sell is HVL-IRC, and both look exactly the same To all Sonys Please remember to look at the model number carefully before your purchase. Items may look alike and all black in color. Last edited by King Tiger; 12th July 2004 at 12:45 AM. |

That's really scarry. I thought there was all this time only one model. When you mentioned the price @$85, I really thought it was a fantastic deal.
