Foto Guide in Penisula Plaza. Their 35mm SLRs use Minolta MD-mount lenses, by the way. And good thing is, those are very cheap nowadays.

Their TLRs are supposedly very good for their money. Their SLRs were actually based on the old Minolta X300/700 SLRs, so should be pretty okay.

TLR = Twin Lens Reflex.
SLR = Single Lens Reflex.

As the name implies, TLR has 2 lenses, one for you to view your subject, the other for taking the picture.

Just imagine a SLR but with 2 lenses. What you see is almost what you get. But for TLRs, the image is laterally inverted (left to right).

You open up the hood on top, pop-up the magnifier, then adjust focus till the image appears sharp on the screen. The screen is a lot bigger than SLR viewfinders.

Heard a lot of rave reviews of their TLRs, so they are probably worth it. And they are cheap. I heard about $100 for the lower end TLR.

Probably you might want to look at the 4 element 3 group version.

Hey, it's medium format. Can probably beat the crap out of the consumer 6mp digital cameras! At such low prices, it's hard to beat. But! Getting them into digital format costs lotsa money - medium format scanners are expensive, and medium format scanning services are also expensive.

Actually, if you shoot 120-format slides, and is content with viewing them on a lightbox (I've seen them, and they looked great!), cost should no longer be an issue.

Trouble is, we all want them in our PC/Macs...

Hi Medium format is not that expensive but still cost slightly more than 35mm if you only shoot & print.
For you info. a roll of 120(6x6-12exp/6x4.5-16exp) Fuji NPS160 cost $3.50 & developing cost $3.00 + $0.35/3S print,Both at MS Colour.

BTW Im selling away one of my Russain TLR Lubitel 166B here
