Nah... bought it under recommendation when I was a newbie. Only used it less than 5 times. Seldom bring it out also. I think 50mm x 1.6 crop factor not that useful... It's neither here nor there... Rite now, I use my 17-40mm most often...

Do i wanna sell it?
Nah... Don't think so. It's just a cheap lens in my collection. Will save it for a day when I REALLY need it... I wonder when also..

This lens will always be in my bag in case there is a need for low light situation where a 4 or a 2.8 is not sufficient. Easy to carry around, lightweighted, and best, 1.8, thou the 50mm on a 1.6x crop is not wide enuf for many situation at all.

Probably tis lens will see more use IF i got a FF... praying hard tat manufactureing cost lower and canon is able to squeeze in a low cost FF body.

I use it to take photo of my newborn baby girl. I use ISO 400 and 800 films for all my indoor take, no flash required.

just curious, if you don't need its f/1.8 large aperture and already have a zoom lens, why you still bring it along for outdoor shooting?

I use it very often because of its low light capabilities. Especially during indoors public areas, where you don't want to annoy people with the constant flashes.

well you can always use the 50mm on a film camera...

1.8 is sufficient to get you a reasonable shutter speed in absolutely bad light when pumping ISO.

50mm's on my film camera most of the time.

ALWAYS use it for close up, full/half body portrait shots, be it during low light or much lighting available. Super sharp lens (close to L) which needs very little USM.

The only thing I don't like is the bokeh, and no zoom!

With the crop factor of 1.6 on entry-level canon bodies, the 50mm prime becomes a 80mm, which is more of a portrait lens.. I'd rather take a zoom lens 24-70 for normal day-to-day street shoots.

for film, i'd really love 45mm prime! hehehe.....

Being effectively 80mm on a DSLR means it is a bit long but ... fantastic image quality and colour.
