Oh yeah hor... 3.5-4.5 was already VR. Thought it was non-VR.

So do you think they will still come out with new VR I lenses these days? If they do, I think it will incur responses like "OMG, that is sooooooo VR I!".....

Since you put it that way... hmmm, I doubt they will anymore.
Maybe for a "budget" VR lens?

Will see lor... wonder what new zoom (with new focal ranges) they will come up with next... Even the 55-300mm comes with VR II, no longer VR I (sez so on Nikon sg website)...

Yeah. It'll probably cost a bomb as well. UWA-medium telephoto. BTW, is it counted as medium or short telephoto?

Yah.... fisheye at the widest... to power pincushion at the longest... Just kidding ok? Somehow I'm a bit skeptical about that wide an angle at 15mm (FF-equiv) without major distortions and coupled it with that long a focal zoom length (again without major distortions)... Major challenge indeed.

I know that. Just that 70-200 f/4 is an easier dream to come true...

yeah, that would be a good lens.
though price-wise, it may cannibalise the 80-200 sales.
maybe they're not sure how to price such a lens, hence it hasn't come out yet.

I think if 70-200/4 VR2 vs 80-200/2.8 at about the same pricing, would give consumers a good choice.

Much like 17-35 versus 16-35 choice dilemmas... next time you'll see topics popping up on the darkside forum: "70-200 f/4 or 80-200 f/2.8?"...

but it's a good thing I reckon... to give people more choice.
Just up to the good folks at Nikon to decide if it's worthwhile to spend more R&D money on developing this lens.

just as much, I wonder if they are contemplating a 120-300 f/2.8 VR II as well? Or maybe in the similar range (so that nobody will say they are following a lead?)...

Probably above 4k... if they do come up with such a lens and the performs well in reviews... I'll be hard pressed to sell my bamboo to upgrade...

Think of the possibility of adding 2x TC to that lens... 240-600mm!!!

I like small numbers in front of "mm"

240-600 doesn't do anything for me
