    i guess it should be similar in setup to a macro shot, but lesser. use a tripod. look for good angles and try to arrange it in geometric shapes. garnish. fill the frame. get off-cam flash. be careful of your WB (mostly fluorescent light). make sure they prepare the food nicely.
    a Nikon body, some lenses, a flash, and a whole lot of dusty photos

    Step 1 : arrange the food nicely with props at the side
    (you may need to buy the props depending on the budget given)
    Step 2 : Use a tripod and external flash
    Step 3 : Enjoy shooting

    If it'll help you, I can lend you my cheapo one... Works well! Just gotta adjust the power output manually.
