saw a good discussion in dpreview:

Thanks! Been looking for something like that. Currently deciding between the 2 cameras if I ever feel rich to upgrade myself. Basically I'd like a camera that uses NiMH batts cos I got tons of those, and I'm attracted to Fuji's use of the smartmedia card (i'm using an Olympus camera). Anyone tried the D7i yet? Is it even out? How much?

Read that Dimage 7i is going for $1500-1560. The review is out at www.imaging-resource.com ! It looks good except for a few problems (high contrast pics, poor battery life, etc).

After reading all these, I still don't know what to get...sheesh...
At this rate, dunno how many newer cameras will come out, and I'll start comparing the newer cameras. This is like a never ending cycle...why can't my present camera just break so I won't have to play the waiting game? |

Have got the 7i, so far am very happy with it, I think you will not go very wrong with it especially if you like wide angle and flash photography is important. It work flawlessly with the 5600HSD. BTW always set the ISO to 100 instead of Auto it makes hell of a difference in the photo.
