Smile Battery Question. G5

Hi guys,

Newbie Powershot G5 owner here

What is the recommended period of time if I don't use the camera then I should take out the battery?

For e.g. if I'm not using the camera in one week, should I remove the battery?

If I do so, will I lose things like, Date and Time settings or customizations?

Appreciate any advise.

The date & time, etc are maintained by a separate cell battery. I just replaced mine on a G2 after more than two and a half years.

With regards to talking out the battery, most people recommend one week if you are not using the camera. It has to do with possible small current discharge if the battery is kept in the camera (maybe). For me if I don't plan to use the camera for the rest of the day I would take the battery out. My original battery for the camera is still going strong and gives as much shots as it used to when new. Hopes this helps
