Manfrotto vs Gitzo tripod

Hi all,

A friend of mine wants to sell his Gitzo G1320 which in excellent condition for $300.
With that price .. I can also grab a new Manfrotto 055 ProB.

Which one would you go for and why ?
I won't be using a 10kg gear on top of my legs for anytime soon .. the most maybe 4kg .. and that's the most for now.

Because considering the price ... those Gitzo must be expensive for something rite ?

The Gitzo are more expensive because of its worksmanship. They are basically the same company now.

$300? what are u waiting for, if u pass on the deal, gif me ur friend's contact, i'll take it. u can almost get 2 055 for $300, a new 055proB only cost like $185. a new 1320 will cost u prolly ard $500.

if u compare a manfrotto to a gitzo side by side, u will notice that even if they have the same specs, the gitzo would be studier than the manfrotto. a 055 would closer to a gitzo 1224 in terms of weight, load and height. throw ur equipment on it, u will notice that the gitzo take the vibrations better.
