Why would anyone do that? if i'm not wrong canon 2x teleconverters cost like $500+. 4 of those is enought to get a new schmidt cassegrain telescope. 8 inch aperture, 2000mm focal length. Just nice enough to frame the entire moon on 35mm. At f/9 i think the optical system is capable of a faster shutter speed too.

the results of the 5 extenders are in the article.

"Update: Josh from BorrowLenses tells me that with 5 extenders, the moon was actually bigger than the frame and the whole setup was “bending and flexing”:"

    with 5 extenders

    with 3 extenders

To better that, can someone please get a 15mm fisheye lens, and fix like 15 2xteleconverters and say " I can take the moon closeup with my fisheye lens "

Haa haa I like this idea.

That setup in the first photo looks like some high-tech NASA space equipment, especially when they are white in colour.
