    Default Blackout caused TV to be damaged. Anyone have same problem?

    My TV was damaged after the blackout. Anyone has the same problem? Thanks.

    i had to degauss my TV after the blackout, and some channels were re-programmed. but otherwise nothing major.

    how to degauss huh? both my tv also got green cast at the edge liao

    me too see some green cast on the edge of the screen.
    couldnt find the degauss function leh??

    hmmm i think degauss functions may not be found on all tvs. my older tv didn't have it either. if i not wrong, the other way is to turn off the tv completely (unplug power) and let it rest for a while (like 12 hours). i might be wrong, so check with your tv manufacturer about it.

    Mine has purple fringing around the edges.. and it is not even a SONY..

    it works!! i let it 'rest' for 3 hrs and now no more green cast at edges.

    Hi fellow CSers,

    the green / color tinge is caused by magnetic interference. Most TV i dun think got a degauss fn like our monitor has.

    like scud, turn it off from the mains. A rest of 30 minutes should be enough.
