Thumbs up Eyecup for Nikon D70 (PinoySAP)

I had my lunch in Lucky plaza and decided to visit Lords camera shop. I asked for a D70 eye cup, and James gave me the ff solution (total S$45) :

Eyepiece Cup Adapter F3HP (Nikon catalog # 2370)
Eyecup, Rubber DK-3 FM2/FM (Nikon catalog # 2362)
Eyepiece Replacement FM2/FE (Nikon catalog # 2925)

And finally, the outcome with my Nikon D70

the packages...

how much is the Eyepiece Cup Adapter F3HP (Nikon catalog # 2370) alone? I already have the others...

Sorry for the OT but a concern to note..

I bought the eye-cup set a week ago and mount it on my D70. On Thursady, I went out for a night shoot but lose the eye-cup. I slung the camera on my shoulder and did not realise the eyecup had 'dropped' off. Somehow the diopter eyepiece came off during movement.

Do note that although the eyepiece is threaded to the adpater with the eyecup in between, it can still drop off if you are not careful.

Btw, does anyone know if the diopter eyepiece comes with prescription? I'm shortsighted and seeing the vewfinder thru the eyecup with glasses doesn't make sense.
B & H sells diopter of +1 to +3 series. Are they meant for speckies like me?

cheers

Yes, there are 'prescripted' eye pieces from Nikon itself, ranging from +1 to +3, check with CP, gadrian got his there, +3 works for me.

Regarding the eyecup falling off, it was due to prolong usaged that caused the eye piece to become loose thus vulnerable to fall off, give it a good tightening before every shoot.

Mine came off at fort canning once, cos the rubber eye cup was rotating so much that after I slinged it against my body , the 2 pieces fell off. By pure luck, I found back the rubber cup and eye-piece. Pure luck.

Does this eyepiece leave oil marks on spectacles?

You mean the diopters can act as glasses so you dont have to wear them when viewing thru the VF?

Default Eyepiece

Cathay currently has no stock for the diopter with prescription... I've checked with Nikon Singapore and it would take at least a month to deliver from indent.

cheers

Take a trip down to TCW for this solution, could save you a few bucks over Lords.

I have just done up one set for my S2pro.

Default Prob?

I have tried the setup what I noticed was the rubber cup actually obstruct the preview panel partially.... Not a big prob but I am used to the original eye piece.

I have bought mine recently too. After 2 uses I lost the rubber eye piece. Now need to find a replacement spare part. Any idea how much just for the rubber eye piece? One of the shops told me it is easy to fall off if you're not too careful with it. It is best to find some way to glue it tight to prevent this kind of loss.
