Talking lens for D70

Hi pple, i'm also the proud owner of D 70 just 1 week ago.
Thinking of getting a telezoom lens.
nikon 28-200mm lens cost a bit but I was told sigma lens picture not so sharp when u blow up the photos? If that so???
As went sigma website they have a 28-200/300mm lens and a 70-300mm lens that allows marco shot too..
any sugestions for lens range to 200-300mm that wont burn a big hole in my pocket??
thx

try the sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6 Super Macro II which costs around $340. it's one of the best lenses for this range.

Suggest you use the kit lens first than consider a tele later if you are thinking of blowing up your photo. Any super zoom in the range that you mentioned will not be sharp even for a Nikon original.

yup, that's sound advice. play with your camera more to learn before jumping into telezooms. you would have a lot of fun with the kit lens which is pretty good.

Will 28-200G be sharp if the largest that I will print is around A4?

Just recently come back from a oversea trip, found that I am too lazy to change len most of the time. Hence I think 28-200 might be a good travelling len for me as it cover quite abit from 28 all the way to 200mm.

stepped down to f8/f11 and the pics would be pretty sharp. if you shoot at the largest apertures, you'll likely see some softness. of course, proper handholding and phototaking techniques would improve sharpness overall by reducing camera shake.
