It's all luck with regards to the weather.

anyway pasay already there. Doubt he'll be able to read this.
Hope he has an enjoyable trip nonetheless, with or without photos...
hi guys! just got back from genting, was damn COLD there. had fun night strobing (on-cam only) while trying to expose both subject (family) and background (hotel lights). wanted to get a good landscape shot in the morning, but fog came up to zero visibility . went back to sleep instead. overall, it was quite enjoyable even without the sunchasing part.
a Nikon body, some lenses, a flash, and a whole lot of dusty photos

    morning!

Glad you and family had fun, and most importantly back safely

There was an unfortunate sinking of a fishing boat (or was it ferry boat?) off the east coast, near Mersing... 3 Singaporeans died. Not to mention the "regular" peaking of the road accident toll during the festive season... ~gulp~

You didn't bring your SB900 for more strobing fun?

    just to add on...:

    Genting? Cold?
You talkin' to the polar bear here....
I've lost count of the number of times people have muttered "siao" as they walk past me along some of the walkways in Genting They'd usually be in their "ski jackets" whilst I'd be in polo tee and jeans

i should have been clearer, i meant i had the sb900 on-cam only. too much hassle to try off-cam with the family on the move.

yup, thankfully not much unfortunate incidents for us. most trouble we had was when we missed the last bus going to singapore from larkin. from KL, next available bus was 11pm, so we had to go larkin, arrived after midnight, missed the last bus to Sg, got a cab to kotaraya terminal, then waited for cabs that would cross the causeway to Sg.

i would have agreed with them had i seen you in that outfit at night or early morning at the terrace facing the wind and fog. at daytime the cold is still bearable though.

Wah... sounds pretty hectic and tiring. Didn't book those packaged "bus + accomodation" trips from Singapore?
My bad for assuming you didn't bring the SB900.
Off-camera flashing no recommended with people who don't have the patience to wait whilst you set it up

hehehehehe... Genting does get pretty cold at night, and especially when the wind is really kicking, eh? I wouldn't know unless I experience it myself... sounds like a dare!

took the package to genting only. coming back, we wanted to stop over KL for a bit of shopping for my mom. we thought the bus terminal was still at puduraya, just near warehouse mall. got there, found out the terminal is under renovation, temporarily transferred to bukit jalil. going there was a pain since it's near the sports complex, and that time was the malaysia-indonesia football game. traffic was terrible.
