will be popping over to Sydney in a couple of days..
what are some good places to stay or spots to take photos outside of Sydney City?

Any recommendations?
Have read some places...

As i do not have teh luxury of time, i can only 2 nights outside of Sydney..

I'd suggest Leura or Katoomba in the Blue Mountains as the best bet for a couple of days. Lots of foggy mornings if it's not raining.

All the places that have been mentioned, such as Port Stephens, Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains and Canberra are all very nice. But it really depends on what kind of photos you want to take....

You happen to be going in winter, and the weather in the Blue Mountains can drop below 0 at night. Some of the towns such as Leura and katoomba are more than 1000 metres above sea level.

If you are going that way, I would suggest you start of early in the morning from sydney, drive up the mountains...visit wentworth falls, then leura, katoomba (where they have the three sisters, and a sweeping view of megalong valley), drive further up and visit Jenolan caves if you have the time.

depending on how much time you want to spend taking photos, you should be able to do blue mountains in a day.

Can spend the other day to do port stephens, or canberra.

Check out their tourist info website.... they give you a fair bit of info.

Hunter valley maybe quite bald at this time of the year...
