Default Question to ask abt Macbook Air.

    Hi all,
i was thinking of changing my macbook Pro to macbook Air 11"
like the light weight n the size..
but some question to ask the expert here..
most of the time for editing i only use iphoto or picasa
Sometime maybe cs4 or maybe aperture
Will the Air enough to do tat...
Will it be too slow or hang offen?

    Thank for the feedback!!

it will probably be too slow for what you want to do. i have a macbook aluminium and it has a faster processor than the macbook air. yet, it is still slower.

    ya i agree
the 11" mba will probably be able to run aperture/CS5 fine
    but abit slow

The question is how often are you going to use it?

If it is not, then probably good enough.

MBA is sufficient for running Photoshop and aperture but don't expect stellar performance.

I am running Aperture 3 and Photoshop CS5 on my MBA 11", butterly smooth
But mine is with a max' out spec: 128GB SSD, 4G RAM and 1.6GHz processor.

I need to use full-screen mode more often on the MBA than my 15" MBP tho.

It will be too slow to use it as your main computer for photo work.

it will be alright, depending on what size of photos you are handling. of course it will be able to edit. but speed will not be the top factor when using it though, you have to be a bit more patient.

i used to use a 1.6 GhZ celeron to edit photos, think 512mb ram... it worked, but it was slow like a snail.

btw, depending on the ram, you might find the computer getting slower and slower as yhou edit...

you are probably also going to want to get an external monitor. the screen on the 11" mba is too small to get any serious editting done.

Maybe an objective review from true expert would be more helpful?

Because of the SSD drive, I find that my MBA 13" faster than my MacBook Pro (bought in 2007)

Hi! I understand that you already bought a MBA but I was actually going to suggest you something else if you hadn't. I don't know if I'm wrong to say this but based on similar size n weight, the Sony VAIO Z series would be a good option too, no?. It has I5 processor and more than 2GHz speed and a bit slightly larger view at 13.1" (yup, 13.1" n very very hard to find screen protector, must buy larger n cut by yourself). Anyway, congrats on ur purchase!
