no need to worry too much..just set an average setting and keep it inside can already.

taking it out to shoot frequently is also as good a solution.

No. the lower the value is, the dryer it is. but if you set it too dry, it's also not good for your equipments.

Default Have a question also...

I also got a D70 a couple of months ago, and haven't kept it in a dry box but been taking it out almost everyday. I keep it in my bag, in my aircon room at night and take it out with me every morning.

I'll be getting a dry cabinet this week, but do you think there'll be a problem from my not using one in the past couple of months?

Oh one more question... Which is better? The Akarui analog needle type dry cabinet I saw at Cathay Photo or should should I get the Digi Cabi I saw at Alan Photo and John3?

No, there shoudln't be problem, since you've been taking it out with you everyday. Fungus is only a problem with stagnant air over a long period - ie leaving it in a bag or confined area with little air circulation.

Too low humidity <40%RH is not good for electronics equipment. It will cause static electricity and may affect the electronics. Too high humidity(>65%RH) will result in moisture built up, thus fungus growth.

Use your cam very frequently, don't even need a dry box. If you do not use your cam at all, fungus might grow even in a dry box. Had a problem like that with a telescope which i did not use for like 2 years?

My digi cabi also fluctuates like yours but if you leave it alone for 2-3 days(don't open the door), the humidity level will be pretty stable. I usually adjust the levels between 45%-55% as instructed in the manual.
