Default Photo Tips for Dreamcars Asia

Yo people !

Just came back from the car show... like the rest of those who went, dun expect too much. I was a little disappointed .. ended up taking portrait of race queens than cars BTW, nice meeting you TMC !

Here are some tips :

1. Follow the race queens esp. the cute one ( I am sure we all know who she is ) to their next booth quickly to secure a good position to shoot. The cute one is like a pop/ movie star ... a herd of photographers 'chased' her till she almost freaked out !!!

2. No re-entry .. so makan and drink enough before entering the hall

3. The Japanese race queens usually take turns to appear. There are 6 in total. Where to find them or when they appear ? Easy ... look for a crowd

4. Lighting not so fantastic ..so watch your settings. Most shots were underexposed or was it my skill ? So, use your flash wisely.

5. Stage performances are at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. There will be games prior to the appearance of all the race queens. You are given 5 mins to shoot all the queens on stage. Make sure you have your 'ammo' cleared and loaded. Some lucky fellas will also get to take a pic with their favourite race queen on stage. Get to the stage before perf time to secure a good position. They will appear from your left and the Japs will usually end up on your extreme right.

I hope these help.

not really a race... they just take one car out at a time and let the driver spin it...

Default Photo tips

I noticed that many if not most of the pics posted for the Dreamcars were underexposed. Perhaps, just leave everything to auto, including the pop-up flash or ext flash might give better results. Let the camera determine the correct setting in terms of aperture, shutter speed, flash power, ISO etc. The camera metering seldom go wrong! But many photogs fiddle with it and go wrong. That is the problem.
