Alan Photo Poor Service

Just went to Alan Photo in SLS this afternoon. Previously bought a 1GB Lexar 40X WA CF card at S$380 and intended to get another piece or a 2GB. The guy who served me was very rude. I told him I bought it at S$380 just 1 month ago and he said its impossible to give me the same price cos its below cost. I didn't believe it as I got the receipt to prove it. Then I asked him the price for the 2GB and said there is no stock rudely and told me to find it myself in the cupboard to check.

Very poor CS. I just walked out of the shop and went to East Gear to get it. AP is added to my blacklist of shops now and will never ever buy or recommend my overseas colleagues again to this shop. It has just become another shop like the others in SLS.

I wonder if it is because we are yellow skin that we are being treated so disrespectedly by these shops, especially when there are white skins around. Have experienced too many such encounters to write it off as a one-time encounter. Maybe these shops think that white skins are Gods hence deserving better attention and service. Next time I suggest you get a white skin to buy the stuff for you. He surely will be served like a King.

Bothered because other shops have similar attitude. Maybe we should bleached our skins white to patronise the local shops?

you just need to dress as though you're loaded and it'll work to the same effect. it has little to do with skin color.

In AP, you must know who to approach to buy your stuffs from, sometimes you do get good price there. Do a research on the price, dont kenna chop head. Once you find the price right and ok, get it immediately..dont go back some other days, the price will varies.. got no idea why.Once you got your first purchase from that sales guy..stick with him, dont approach the others at all.

Yes, it depends on which person you approach. For me, my first time experience was not that good. I am planning to buy a V1, and went in to ask for the price. I believe that shops like AP should be selling cheaper then the RRP, since many other shops in SLS are selling cheaper too. When I enquire for the price, he just told me $999 RRP and no discount, giving me those "bo chup" attitude. I was not that impressed, and thought that AP is a big shop and should have better services. Well, maybe I approached the wrong person. Eventually, of coz, they didn't get my deal. Keke...

Anyway I will not patronise them anymore. I dun want to bring my friends or colleagues from overseas and let them spoil SG image. Once is enough. In the retail industry, CS is the most impt. 1 black sheep is enough to spoil their name.

I think act as indonesians....they treat them like gods....haahaa....nothing mean.....its fact.... i use to do some roadshows at SLS atrium.... normally there only showcase the products if customers wanna buy we'll bring them to the shops.... got 1 indon tio KA big time by AP....lol.... a video cam which cost $2k....they tell him...$2k only cam no accessories...the bill total up $4k.
PAID DOBULE but he only got the cam plus standard accessories with some standard freebies....lol

which guy serve u ??? well there was a middle age guy i think kinda skinny guy... he was rude...

but there are also others who are good... but think u would hav change your mind going there again...

Doesn't matter which guy served me. I think all staff shld have the right attitude. Not professional at all.

At Alan or maybe any other shop, once you get to know 1 salesperson stick to him and you will get the service and price that you expect.
After sometime they will know who you are comfortable with and will not bother you when you walk in next time. I have salesperson who will not serve me in terms of pricing even when I ask but will allow you to handle and see what you want !!!. They will tell you to wait for the person you are comfortable with for the pricing. In any case know your price at any shop.

Ah all that bull about good guy, bad guy, good time and bad time. Maybe potential customers should also pray and check their horoscope before making a trip to AP. Maybe with some luck, divine intervention and acting skills. You might get good service and a good price.

Exactly, you're the customer, and YOU decide where and what to buy. I've never tried AP, so I can't say anything about them. I would recommend you to Lords in Lucky Plaza, though I've yet to buy anything from them, I've always been treated nicely and politely by staff there. Same goes for Parisilk at Holland.

there are a few pple in AP.

1. one guy ( usually in Blue polo ) T shirt. A bit fuzzy hair... usually very rude and gives you high price.

2. Short guy..... usually quite friendly but allways buzzing around the shop.
if he knows you or remembers you....he gives you good price .

3. fair and young guy...usually in white shirt...clean cut...... usually very short and sharp with attitude and prices.

I think.... just know what you are looking for and find the boss.... i wonder who?
