Default Price of sigma 170-500mm canon mount

Anyone know the price w/gst for the above lens? I called up a shop in AMK to enquire about the price, only to be told i need to pay a deposit of $200 before they are willing to check out the price

About S$850 in HK, add in the local markup in Singapore - probably close to S$1000? The 50-500 Sigma is ard $1350 in HK, best I got locally in SG was ard $1600.

Try John 3:16, they do stock Sigmas at quite reasonable prices. AP is usually more than J316 nowadays.

Got a friend just bought it for S$1420 at a ground level shop in Peninsula.

Saw the test shots was amazing able to read the container ship's container wordings about 1km from the beach!

Great lens !

with the 50-500 just a little more, wouldn't it be better to get the 50-500?

if not mistaken the 50-500 has HSM but not the 170-500, so agree with small price diff, might as well get the 50-500, with wider reach and faster focus

CP does sell sigma. They don't keep stock, but have a price list and will order in for you.

I think i know which shop you are referring to....opposite Bata? I got a bad experience where I was charged $3 more for a roll of film which I could get at CP. If they can overprice for a small ticket item, I dread to think how more much they will price for a big Sigma lens that costs over a $1000 buck. I suggest the lady check out the price at MS Colour personnally ... they might be smitten and quote her a competitive price At least for me MS Colour has been consistently given me a good price.

lemons leave you a sour taste in the mouth when used.

Hm.. Interesting. Used to think this is a very good lens with an affordable price. Some CSers own this lens and showed some superb pics in the nature gallery here. Even think of getting one in HK coz' it's cheaper. Now after knowing this, I'm not a pro, definitely have no idea which one is a "lemon". May be it's not such a good idea to get this lens.
