    Tks for your advice!
Actually the word downgrade is a misnomer. If the high end cam doesn't really suit your needs and changing to a lower version that suited to your style and needs, you consider a downgrade? In monetary and size sense, yes if you see it that way. If the smaller version enable you to carry around the whole days and taking more pictures and angles that your friend are not able to capture due to tilt screen-is it a downgrade? Honestly, i don't see it that way.

I'm not here to convince you going into 4/3 or whatever format, If you go to DP review forum, there are so many people "downgrade" their high end cam to a mirrorless type and they confessed they can never be happier. Some of them said they have never taken so many pictures in their life with the big camera (FF type) after switching to the smaller type, firstly, its so tiring, bulky and obstrusive to carry around that it relegated to collect dust once they embark on the smaller mirrorless type. Of course, there are also some complaining about the switch. Its always 2 sides of the camp and it really depends what you want to achieve - practicality, functional, feel good or look good factor, peer pressure, psycology etc.

agreed that more "pro" users are getting a smaller camera to be their buddy due to size and weight. we are not opening gallery, so acceptable IQ would be alright. most of the times, we are viewing pictures from our notebook or post on the web. how often we print out a 20x30 picture (for example)? as long as the camera able to capture all the details, that is what you want.

if you think D90 is good for quality pictures, then opt for a 2nd camera as casual/outdoor used with friends!

i notice the normal psychology thinking of many 'photographers' is the bigger and heavier the cam body is, they feel better and more pro with it.

This thinking is so old school liao..... what's wrong with these ppl?

Why should someone suffer from carrying a big/heavy cam body? Don't talk abt FF cam... that's a different story
