Canon in Japan has announced a service upgrade for the EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 7D that sees the camera's mode dial replaced with a redesigned locking version. The new dial, which is similar in design to the one on the EOS 60D, includes a centre button that, when pressed, allows the dial setting to be changed. Otherwise, the dial is locked in position to prevent accidentally changing the mode setting while the camera is carried.
