Hello I was just thinking, why don't we have an assignment on a different topic every month, like PhotoSIG? Every month we could start a thread where people post their photos for that assignments.

Good idea but you can look upon the present clubsnap contest as some sort of assignment as there is a theme. Furthermore there are prizes to be won.
