btw may I trouble you guys to keep a lookout for any old macro lens in the 50+mm to 70mm range?
Not for insects but rather, small items. 1:1 ratio is not really necessary I suppose.
Something like an AF-D 60mm micro or similar
AIS also ok. Don't mind manual metering with my D90...

You want him to waste $$$ har? It's for the 80-200 tripod collar... That means either AF-D (version 2) or AF-S (version 3), both came with collar, not version 1. Buy that already, means he has to sell his current 80-200 and go for the above two versions + the RRS head...

what is your required minimum focus distance? Bro... some dudes did let go the AF-S 60 at about 600 leh... no warranty of course... not too long ago.

Also, you should also give your 50 f/1.8 a try... if you're not shooting insects, small items may work since you do not require thin DOF. min focus dist for 50mm f/1.8 is about 0.45m leh... This is a pretty sharp lens that's why some peeps are converting it for macro photography by adding a raynox and extension tube...

bro,if not shooting insects,y not try the 50mm with ext tube?i tried it before and it works pretty fine, just that focusing distance becomes damn close, not useful for insects

I agree... in fact, I may be considering a 50mm for product shoot for a deeper DOF... so, go figure!

Since you only required a big stopper (10 stop), why not consider B+W ND110 alone?

I'm also looking at getting GNDs, and having the filter holder would help me in aligning the GND

Why you need the Wide angle adaptor ring, I thought the foundation kit can hold the filter?
