Default Where and which to get? (Filter and lens)

    Hello guys!!
Remember me from my previous thread about my Canon lens being slightly slanted? (due to the drop XD)

Due to that drop, my lens filter is screwed. So imma want to get a new filter!
I am aiming for a UV filter. I am using a 18-135mm lens from Canon. Which one should i get? I shoot landscapes, animals, still objects etc.. Have a budget of $100.

And where can i possibly get the 50mm f1.8 lens for Canon at the bestestestest price?

    Thanks in advance

There is price guide section in this forum in case you did not notice...

The guides even list the shops that quote those prices. Try to do a search next time.

A UV filter does not have any effect on what you shoot, be it landscapes, animals, still objects etc. In fact, the biggest function it serves is protection.

Don't expect people to spoonfeed you either.

Really? I mean the filters are there just for protection? Cannot be right... Sure got some difference when using the filter and not using..

UV filters filter out UV light.

In the past it is useful, because film can get affected by UV light.

Nowadays, digital sensors are not affected by UV light. So having a UV filter is just for the sake of protection.

But when i got my first filter (Senzeiser UV filter) some peeps here told me that it was not worth and had something to do with downgrading the quality of the pictures..

do you know that different lens may have different filter thread size?
Usually you will want to get a filter size that fit the thread on the lens.

Actually u can get quite a range of filters at the mass sale section at affordable price. Lower end filters tend to be more prone to flares.
