Default Anyway to transfer photos from CF card to iPad?

I have an iPad and I am looking at the camera connectors (1 x SD card + 1 x USB).
As D700 is using CF card, thus I am exploring getting the camera connector, connect my CF card -> card reader -> USB connector -> iPad and transfer the photos from CF card to iPad this way.
However, called Apple support, they CANNOT confirm whether the method I am asking can work and asked me to try...
Anyway has tried this method, can work?

    Canto, thanks for feedback.
I am using a card reader brand name is 'MINI' ver.2. According to Apple support, they cannot confirm all brands of card reader works. Well, perhaps I will take the plunge and just get it

using a "mini ver 2" card reader, does not work properly with iPad CCK. You can always use a USB cable and plug directly from iPad CCK to the camera.

not all CF card reader can work with the camera connection kit as the ipad might not have sufficient power....
you can use D700 itself with the cable provided and transfer the photos to ipad although you may find it troublesome
