ok lah. not say "dont like" lah..its rather of "no interest" (a more neutral tone) rather than "dont like" ( a more evil tone)

huh i must lengthen my msg to more than 10 characters? lol
sorry, i haf to say this... i totally hate soccer... i juz find it stupid, boring, un-ethical, silly, insignificant, useless to the society, no contributions to the society's well being. and worse. Betting bring harms and ills to the fragile society of Singapore. not onli it harms the bet(ter) it also harms socially in within Singapore. therefore... as i always say to my friends. I urge all Club Snappers to quit betting (gambling)....
given the choice between a sporting event and a movie, which would you rather watch? taking into consideration that sports is primarily meant to be played whilst movies are meant to be watched. my choice was clear
Stupid? Not sure that a game with so much history can be 'stupid'. Cowpushing is stupid, taking drugs is stupid, but football?Originally Posted by glennyong

Care to explain??un-ethical
Careful, getting a little intellectual heresilly
Try being in a footballing nation when they win a major game or trophy. The place goes crazy!! The sport brings happiness (and despair) to MILLIONS of people. How can that be insignificant??insignificant, useless to the society
Making lots of people feel good?? Enjoyed by millions of people. Think that add to society's well-being.no contributions to the society's well being
Ok, therefore horse-racing, casinos, card games and most major sports, the stock-market etc...all are silly and stupid in your book.Betting bring harms and ills to the fragile society of Singapore. not onli it harms the bet(ter) it also harms socially in within Singapore.
Don't mean to ridicule you but I think your stand on football is rather lacking in substance. If YOU don't like it fair enough, but that doesn't mean that it is the things you claim it to be. I don't normally rant but you wound me up on this one!

but...GO ENGLAND GO!!
GO FRANCE GOALLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
awaiting 5hr marathon...till 5am...woohoo!!!
what is so interesting about 22 people running after one ball?
What is so interesting about a game that is no longer fair?
What is so interesting about millionaires running about the field while you people pay so much to fund them to be millionaires?
What is so interesting when you have to packed yourself so tightly with thousand other sweaty loud supporters who mostly cannot even jog 1km?
What so if its got a history? everything else have one too.
are you interested in singapore? it's got a history as well you know?
will you pay thousands of dollars to stand at the national stadium and sing to your country?
What is so interesting when more then half the country supports a same team? well they lost didn't they?
In fact most games we play are silly. depends on whether you have an interest in it or not
phil..pls dont whack him...u shld whack me instead

Either you like it or hate it. Just don't impose your choice onto others.
clive, thanks for letting us know you don't like soccer, rather useful piece of information.
Erm...who would be quite disappointed huh? The mother or the child...?Originally Posted by lovells19
ps: I don't like soccer, but I don't mind looking at some soccer players...
to be quite frank, i feel that alot of easily-influenced people get drawn into it during their school years just to "fit in" with the crowd...Originally Posted by CaeSiuM

so anyways, of all sports, why soccer?
...why not ping pong?
Preferred National Football League (NFL) much more than whatever soccer that's dominating the channels...
I prefer watching over 100 people chasing after one ball instead of 22, anyway!!
