Default Sony flash F32X problem connecting

Hi F828-ers,

I have problem connecting my F32X with the hot shoe. I have followed the instructions in both manuals to 'connect' them. But still in vain.

However i try using the cable provided to 'connect' them. Then is able to receive the 'connect' signal on the flash screen.
Note: f828 suppose to 'connect' with F32X without the cable, right?

But still my camera refuse to fire a flash from the F32X.
My setting for the flash is: Auto A, wide
Camera setting: Auto mode
did set for auto 'flash'
Any other things missing?

Hi Del_CtrlnoAlt,

Yah, i have check the setup on the dial. By default the hot shoe is set to 'off'. From the manual, it told me to leave it to 'off' too. So i leave it as default.
but still i have no luck in getting the 'connect' sign on the flash F32X.

then you have to tighten the screw, coz if the connection is bad it cant communicate with the camera
