Why does the color of my film scan turn out so poor?
i've juz got a LiDe80 and have been trying out the film scan of my old photographs which were taken abt 10 yrs ago.. and the color of the scan is totally off.. can somebody tell me what's happening?

I have the lide80 too, though i haven't tried scanning 10yr old photos. You are scanning the photo print i presume? Maybe u want to post some examples up for viewing?

Possible reasons I can think of:
1. Film detoriate over time. Colours will go off-scale, and your decade-old films probably suffered such a fate.
2. Your system isn't properly colour-managed, so getting the right colours can be a problem.

Use auto level in PS to see if it helps.

Your scan looks a little discoloured at certain portions. How did you keep your negatives?
