    Default Nikon D90 Focus issue

    Hi,

I just sold my Nikon D60 and bought D90. I found out that in Nikon D60 can focus easier and faster that D90. In D60, there are only 3 focus point, but in D90, it is a lot. Sometimes when I waht to focus on the subject which is in the left, the focus point won't go to left, it just stack at the centre or right..

Did anyone encounter the same issue here?

    What is the solution? thanks..

Read you manual. Hint: pay specific attention to "manual selection of focus points"...

Using a local mantra: in order to "use the camera most effectively / utilize it to the maximum" it helps most if one simply knows what the camera can do.

oh no. then d300s is a very very complicated camera! 51 AF points.
Read the manual TS. it has gems in it.

AF points... can never get enough of them (11 is not too many)... i select AF point most of the time in portraits provided the subject is not moving too much.

    Try this
    One of the way is:
    menu>a autofocus>a1 af-area mode>single point(most flexible)

By doing so, u can 1/2 shutter(set focus first), then switch ur focus points withint the 11 points given. OR,

play with the multi-selector to choose your focus point first, then 1/2 shutter do snap a shot.

Auto-area will not allow u to change focus point at all.( u can try out others too)

Key issue: 1) The switch below the word the "ok"/mutlti-selector must not be switch to "L"( which means Lock). U must be at the "white small dot"

    2) i use menu>a autofocus>a6> AE lock hold.

    3) At anytime u want it to be center focus, press the "ok".
