    Default Choosing between G12 & Nikon P7000

    Hi,

I am looking at a compact cam. I have use a G11. Is good for me, i like the , marco, the shutter speed is fast to take photo of people moving. Focusing a bit slow but i am ok.
Any better cam to suggest? Buy budget is 1k.

Since you have a SB-900, you may utilize it with the P7000

I was in your shoes about a month ago.
I was comparing Nikon P7000, Canon G12 and Panasonic LX5.
I decided to buy LX5 for the following reasons:
1- It is the smallest in all 3.
    2- It has wider angle
3- It has f/2.0 (advantage in low light photography)
You may also take a look at LX5.

I was also choosing between G12 & P7000. G12 price is about $100 more than P7000. In the end I chose G12 for 1) better image quality/better ISO performance 2) vari-angle LCD 3) better resale value. LX5 is out for me bcos of the lens cap.

Either one is fine. If you prefer the swivel screen then G12. Larger LCD then, P7000. Both are good performers but seriously there isnt really a need to jump from G11 to any of them.
