The two listed above are both quite good. Their data transfer rate are fast enough with decent battery life. There are also one from Vosonic and one from Epson.

Vosonic: http://www.vosonic.com/product.php?P...kind=1&id_1=16 (there are several models)
Epson: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/c...s&oid=63076680 (there are several models)

Will it be better to purchase a netbook?

    Better for what?
Please think about what you want to do (just storing? reviewing? simple editing? complex post-processing?), your luggage capacity and many other aspects (e.g. people who might want to get your netbook without asking..) during traveling and at home. There is no "better" in an absolute way, "better" always refers to certain conditions which you have to define first.
