    Had a chance to put this baby through it's paces and see what it can do
    (btw i do not own any charts and i also do not shoot charts, i prefer real scenes that i might actually use a camera to shoot.)

    to me this is an advanced P&S camera and will be tested as one.

    High ISO noise test - 100% crops dark scene
    An single incandescent bare bulb is the only light source for this scene

    Macro Magnification test





    the setup of 2 shots above are the same, at 6mm focal length the camera to subject distance is so close that the camera blocks the light

    Built-in ND filter
    an example of what the built in ND filter does, camera is set to manual exposure, one shot with ND filter off and one with ND filter ON (darker)





    now that is a big difference

    Active D-Lighting
    Settings are Off/Low/Normal/High
    Look at the shadow details to see the difference
    these were all shot with auto exposure mode

    Settings are Normal/Low (Comment: there should be an Off setting as well)






    Long Exposure NR
    Settings are Auto/On (Comment: again there should be an Off setting as well)





    Distortion Control (this is only for use with the WA converter)
    Settings are On/Off

    this was in the evening, so lighting was rather dull and flat


    i always liked this master's tool drawer


    early in the morning, testing extreme harsh light situation

    the DOF for smaller sensor cameras with super wide angle 6mm lens is so great that it is difficult not to get everything sharp







    now after i posted this, i am wondering why i did not shoot one at f2.8 ...
