For a good condition 2nd hand (nevermind if it is 3 years old) sigma 10-20 f4-5.6, I feel that $500+ should be quite a fair value.

Nikon 10-24... please offer me. MS photo is selling for S$1350. I am hoping to get it for around $1000. Sorry for the misunderstanding...

the review says at 10mm the distortion is pretty pronounce. I have tried it. Not too bad. But not fully experimented with it. I am thinking trying to overcome this by individually correct the lens distortion in ps before stitching and also zoom it up to maybe 12mm and stitch more frames if needed to.

quite agree... from my limited research the 2mm difference means 10degree more or less of the scene... depending on the distance from you to your object....this can means quite a lot especially when you want shoehorn in all the buildings nicely and give enough breathing space and balance.

For example this is a stitched photo...can't remember how many frames.

Master Kit has a very similar one too. Taken with a full frame with a uwa. On a closer examination, the buildings distortion looks discerning different when you view the photos simultaneously, but on its own you won't be able to tell the difference.....

So, I have been getting by without a uwa for quite some time....
This is till I have seen a photo of the shrek castle taken with a uwa compare to my stiched one...... I gotta get one...

Been working around this limitation loh and sometimes using stitch to overcome this handicap. Now I beginning to feel it as even the stitched photo didn't come up as good when compare to using the uwa.
I am moving backwards (as in going back to using kit lens) rather than UWA. You can borrow my UWA indefinitely as I think I may not be taking photos these few weeks.

I think when it comes to details, there's something about stitching large photos that somehow got me captivated with going back to using the 50mm for UWA.

Repeating the Buddha Tooth Relic photo I took, the full size on the short side is actually 7500pixels and can actually see the roof details on the shop houses makes it a bit

Of course, it's not always possible to create stitching photos (especially for LE) but neither is it impossible.

....not saying tamron lens are below par.... but since switching from a tamron 18-200 to a sigma 18-200.... I think I will just keep to sigma lens, if I am getting any third party lens.... for the uwa lens at this range, the prices of tamron, sigma and tokina uwa are really close.... I have compare photos taken with tokina and sigma......... plus a couple of review here and there and therefore conclude to get the value for money sigma 10-20.... nikon 10-24 if I can get one really cheap and good.
