Yesterday just ordered one Digi-Cab DHC-040 from John 3:16 as they don't have stock. Will be collecting within this few days. Cost $238 from John 3:16. TK Photo is also selling at the same price for the same model and $118 for Digi-Cab DB036.

    Hope its help. =D

This has been discussed many a times. Price of Dry Cabinets are more or less fixed... unless the shop want to chop you or you look like a ah b*** or ang moh

The cheapest place is Carrefour, specially when they have a 10% discount for POSB card. The smallest and cheapest one is DB 36, the 30L model cost $118 before discount. You can buy something else to clock $150 to avail free delivery.

The other two popular places are directly from Digicabi. Except for 30L, all are free delivery. Their website is compatiable with IE only. Homepage does not work, so try this instead.

The other option is Reddot, check at mass sales section.

Beside that, many shops sells off the shelf at different price... however, you will miss the free delivery. Few popular shops are MS Color, Orient Photo with reasonable price.

Oh, dry box or dry cabinet is for you to store your camera equipment so as to prevent fungus from growing in your lens etc due to our humidity and warm surrounding. It is advisable to have either one of them.

    Cheers.

Sorry, I made a mistake on the price. It should be $118 for DB036. $168 is for AD-050.

    Thanks for pointing out.

simple, if you are shooting very often and you own few gears, then its alright not to have a dry box/cabinet. but if you got lots of lenses and you really underutilized your gear like say 3 months or more, then you should get a dry box to prevent fungus grow inside your lens

Yes, to prevent fungus under high humidity conditions in Singapore.

Dry box and dry cabinet are airtight, humidity decreases
    in the presence of dessicant.

Camera bag is to protect the gears, not to keep the moisture down.

    Regarding the price, read this

Totally agree! Just get one and forget about the worries of fungus growing or needing to replace/ recharge silica gel.. cheaper in the long run too I guess..

If u can afford a dslr, wad's a dry cabinet to u?? Anyway, it should be already included in ur budget when u were planning for a dslr to begin with..

at local climate, high humidity will cause camera and lenses grow fungus in very short period.

keep in you bag might even grow fungus sooner, as moisture trap inside the bag.

i use dry cabinet to keep my equipment and also my supplements and medicine. would not suggest it though that you do, but if you are looking for other stuff to keep in a dry cabinet.
