    he is a good salesman too . . .

i tried it at NC, i prefer the 24-120mm f4.

When zoom, it is not blur like the 24-70. low light also no issue to shot . . . i am surprised too.

Then you've more or less decided already right? Marcus maybe a good salesman, but what do you expect? He does work for Nikon?! It is not about picking up a single lens but deciding between two equally competitive lenses - so it is that assistance I'm refering to, the know-hows of the salemen to really point out to you blow by blow details of the pros and cons (details that you might have missed out)... I haven't tried both lenses so I can't comment, maybe I'll give them a try at the kopi-session if time permits...

However, here are my two cents... if you shoot both lenses wide open, f/2.8 should (theoretically speaking) beat f/4 in terms of better looking bokeh right? Of course VR helps tremendously... I guess it boils down to the lesser evil... lol!

Edit: Which Nikon body are you using btw? Just curious only, not going to making any comments relating to this...

Actually for events hor, I would opt for VR over large aperture. Reason being that you don't always want thin DOF. So the moment you stop down the fast lens, you're screwed (comparatively, against the VR lens).

The only downside of stopping down is that you might use more juice from the flash.

Regarding the outing on 13th, Zi Cha venue unfortunately is having their day off.
We can either reschedule the outing, or just go to another place.

I'm fine with either option. But I think it'd be better not to change the date hor?
Suggestions for venue? I only request for somewhere outside CBD if possible. hehehe save me ERP fees.

i love the DoF but i will opt for VR . . . cos when shooting at its end (55mm/120mm), the f2.8 is blurred . . . (blame on me not having a steady hand)

    I am trying it on D90 and D300s . . .

ok onz! Now where is that list....
Kriegs, if you are still agreeable to this dinner location, I can certainly give you a lift to somewhere more convenient after dinner. Those staying in the south can tumpang me. Can drop you at somewhere like Newton or Orchard or L.India (for NEL ppl).

I'm okay with the new location, ZCA's kind help to drop off at nearest MRT is appreciated as well.

I've google-scouted the area: Google map Just drop the yellow man onto the blue hotspots to view images. A good location for sunset I think. Only tree-line horizon. Great suggestion Weegk!

However, we should also suggest a secondary location as well in case of bad weather (knock on wood). This way, no need to panic when the time draws near.
