Actually, if you pour the content into the ceramic glass that they have in store, you will find that it fills up nicely to the brim. Take away cup (For local coffee) usually has higher volume (8 to 10 Oz) as compared to the drink in ones(6 to 8 Oz). Besides that, one other possible reason where they don't usually fill up to the brim for take away cup is to protect the customer from accidental spilling.

Still, I don't think Old Town coffee will go to such extent. TS picture showed the cup was only 70% full, which is the correct level before adding in hot water. I believe that the staff forgot to add in hot water and went on to cap the cup. The staff that handed over the cup to TS should noticed the lighter weight though but I guess that goes down to experience.

Singapore and Malaysia(some part of Indonesia as well) shares similar coffee roasting method that was passed down from the Portuguese. Over the years, independent development had led to different variations, but the principal remains the same. Hence, $2.20 for a cup of "White" coffee is a bit too much IMHO, relative to the price of local coffee. Reason being it is simply local kopitiam coffee with a little something extra(Sorry, I can't say what the extra something is/are).

Actually TS you are supposed to pour half the content to another cup and add water to fill up to make two cups ; OldTown coffee is "thick" enough two make to cups.

Unfortunately, this so called OldTown coffee I bought is not so thick leh. If split into 2 cups and add water will make it become "long gang water" already

Actually, I dun expect the coffee to fill up to be 100% full and spill out, but maybe around 90%. The cup size is bottom circumference is smaller and top circumference is bigger. Look at the pic I posted, you will notice the coffee level is really rediculus low (i take it as 3/4, may be less). Perhaps you got a point that the young lady forgot to add water before closing the lid (bcos she kept looking and smiling at me ). But true fact is the coffee thickness is not kopi gau gau leh

WAHAHAHAHHAH! I was just about to want to post up such a picture liao......heheheh your picture that one from Old Town Restoran ah??

din know u from Pa Lor woh....

I grew up in Kampar.... and i still prefer Sin Yoong Loong over Old Town

also ...... I don't even want to start the debate on Ipoh Sa Hor Fun.........else some CSer will say that I'm "anti Singapore" and all that....despite giving a justified critique on the gravy-ish IPOH SA HOR FUN type.........uniquely found in S'pore
