    • drop it

for extra protection you can buy insurance or like me keep it in the cabinet all the time like my FA31
Wat a waste of the FA31... it is a good FL neh!

Just bought a DFA 100mm WR MACRO. I search around for a 49mm uv filter at penisular and found one shop that sell. She recommended me a vitacon one and say its only 1mm slim for $18. Bought it as i want to protect the lens but still feeling unsure whether it is a good filter.

Anyone can tell me if i need a filter for macro lens and any recommendations for a 49mm one? Thanks!

it kinda defeat the purpose of getting a optically very good lens and putting a cheap glass in front to degrade the optical quality...the lens hood is a good protection already as the entire front barrel resides inside the hood... CP should sell B+W 49mm, but their prices are inflated... Mass Sale section can find, but whether getting an expensive filter is up to individual, not a must...

    ya... should be macro outing...
i think there will be more than 20 100mm owner appear...

i just try the lens... seem like when 1:1 marco with F4, the DOF is thin until nothing to say... about 2-3mm only...
then i understand what marcus told me during a outing...
need F16 and above to shot a insect full body, that why flash light is needed even outdoor in daytime...$$$$ again...
