Default Help with Black and white

Fellow Clubsnappers, I recently took some pics for my friend's wedding and i felt that some of them would look nice in black and white. Is there any other way of PS them beside just decreasing saturation? I heard about burning but i'm a newbie in PS. any advise? thanks in advance
