So the above junk is a converter that convert a non-wide angle lens for example canon 55mm to 250mm to a wide angle lens when mounted on izit ?

Btw what is the meaning of 0.5X stated on the box ?

    0.5x?

Means it will half your focal length...

    a 50mm lens will become 24mm.

    A 24mm lens will become 12mm...

But IQ is horrendous. Just look at the picture TS posted. The vignetting at the 4 corners are not the biggest problem. The picture is generally soft, and there is severe CA on most of the highlight edges.

If I own this piece of vitaCON, please crucify me and burn me at the stake. No, not mine...

I had a wide angle converter once... THIS ONE... But it was made for my camera S7000 and it costs around USD 150. No IQ degradation whatsoever.

Gave it away together with the S7000 to my brother-in-law.

The biggest problem is the vitaCON itself. Stop using a vitaCON and problem solved.

If you insist on using this wide angle adaptor, then the least you can do is remove any other filter, so that the adapter is as close as possible to the lens, reducing the severity of vignetting.

However, you can't do anything about the poor image quality you get when you use this adapter. For that, the only solution is to throw this adapter away and buy a proper wide angle lens, with the focal length/range you require.
    Exploring! :)
